Human rights are principles or norms which describe certain standards or guidelines of human behaviors. The Human Rights council- also called as HR, takes care of the protection and cooperation of all human rights. Their purpose is to make sure that everyone is able to access basic human rights (such as the right to vote). The Human Rights Council is the main inter-governmental body within the United Nations responsible for strengthening the promotion and the protection of Human Rights around the world by addressing situations of human rights violations and giving advocacy on them. “Human rights were established in order to protect every human regardless of their gender, race, age, and choices. In order to dictate their importance and validity for the world's population, and to sustain their influence, the Human Rights Council was established and is running.” A quote by Keya Karan, a member of the Human Rights Council.
